The Woodpecker
A downloadable Total Conversion for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Finally, you managed to get into this secret place, in the middle of the Chernobyl forbidden Zone. An old building… abandoned labs where strange experiments happened. Now it's time for you to accomplish your destiny. What will you choose in the end? The worlds of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and SOMA collide in this short experiment.

Let's do it.
- Originally, The Woodpecker was made in 8 days for the Frictional Winter Modding Jam 2019.
- I decided to create a short narrative experience keeping in mind: what could happen if the worlds of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and SOMA were linked, in a parallel universe?
- The themes for this jam were Winter and hibernation.
- Last Xmas 2022, it was expanded into a proper Director's Cut edition, with new content, events, UI, items…
- This can be seen as a concept, demo for a full game in the future.
- Localized in English and Russian.
The Woodpecker takes you to investigate a different attempt to stop the comet Telos [from SOMA],
spiced up with mystic powers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Install instructions
// BASE
You need Amnesia: The Dark Descent with its latest updates (1.3.1 or above).
If you play on GOG, Steam, EGS… you already have it.
If you don't, download then install it from where you bought your game.
// WARNING
A clean installation is advised to avoid conflicts with other mods that could have broken, outdated content.
// STEAM/GOG/EGS
Put the folder "The_Woodpecker" at the root of your "Amnesia The Dark Descent" folder.
That's it!
// NON-STEAM
Put the folder "The_Woodpecker" inside the "Redist" folder.
This folder is located inside your "Amnesia - The Dark Descent" folder.
// HOW TO PLAY
Inside the "The_Woodpecker" folder, you will find various launchers for Windows, Linux, macOs, next to the readme file.
// LAUNCH VIA STEAM ON LINUX OR MACOS
To launch FT via Steam on Linux or macOs, right click on Amnesia: TDD, click properties, in launch options add:
The_Woodpecker/config/main_init.cfg
Then launch Amnesia: TDD to play FT.
Please note that only 32 bit macOs are supported sadly.
